Answer

YES. The teachers in CDC’s preschool classrooms are certified teachers through Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board and have a minimum degree of Bachelors in Education.  It is encouraged that all teachers acquire an Early Childhood Education endorsement, and required that they obtain a Special Education endorsement within five years of hire.  All therapists are licensed or certified in their specific area.  A minimum of an Associate Degree is required to be a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), or a Speech and Language Facilitator (SLF).  Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Pathologists require a minimum of a Bachelor Degree and state licensure to be employed by CDC.  All therapist assistants are supervised directly by a licensed or certified therapist as required by law.  Additionally, all classroom assistants and other staff who work with children are required to obtain 15 STARS (Statewide Training and Resource System) hours per year to further their education and maintain employment at CDC.
